Cloud: UM6P Partners with Indian Giant HCLSoftware

Atlas Cloud Services : l'UM6P s'associe au géant indien HCLSoftware

Atlas Cloud Services, a subsidiary of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), and HCLSoftware, a division of HCL Tech, a global leader in IT services, have signed a partnership agreement to launch the first sovereign cloud in Morocco and Africa.

This strategic collaboration aims to assist companies in their digital transition by providing simplified access to the most advanced cloud services, covering collaboration, productivity, security, availability, and infrastructure, while ensuring the security and sovereignty of data at the national level.

A Sovereign Cloud in Morocco: Tailored for Business Needs

According to a statement from UM6P, this solution is designed to meet the specific needs of businesses. It includes a high-performance professional messaging system, adjustable according to the capacity and performance requirements of each company, as well as a reliable instant messaging service, ensuring the security of intra- and inter-company communications. Additionally, the solution offers a video conferencing platform to facilitate communication and enhance team productivity, as well as a data storage and sharing space allowing real-time access from any device and location.

“We are thrilled to partner with HCLSoftware to introduce this innovative solution in Morocco and Africa. This collaboration demonstrates our commitment to technological innovation, security, and the Kingdom’s technological sovereignty,” said Reda Loudiyi, General Director of Atlas Cloud Services.

This partnership will also contribute to developing local skills by training and mentoring Moroccan talents on HCLSoftware products. The aim is to ensure complete autonomy for Atlas Cloud Services and its clients in the implementation and management of the established platforms.

HCL Tech Strengthens Its Presence in Morocco

It is important to note that this partnership gained new momentum with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in 2022 between UM6P and the Moroccan government, formalizing a negotiation process that began in 2021.

The initial results of this collaboration quickly materialized. In July 2023, the head of government, Aziz Akhannouch, received Roshni Nadar, chairperson of HCL Tech, in Rabat during the inauguration of the Delivery Center of the Indian company in Technopolis Rabat. This investment aims to create over 1,000 highly skilled jobs and strengthen the outsourcing sector in Morocco, particularly in coding, software, and IT services.

In parallel, partnerships with Moroccan universities and institutions will be established to train the talents of tomorrow in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields and to facilitate their integration into a rapidly growing technology sector.
